Penny, it's not Henry and Rudy, it's Henry and Roberto. It is definitely them, I recognized both their voices years ago right away when HC was still on The Family Channel. It was not a crowd scene, it was a voiceover done by them. Henry confirmed this for me, through Kat, right after I discovered the HCDG over a decade ago.

You can also hear their two voices during a stampede scene - can't remember if it's also in ghost of Chaparral. But yes, it is definitely Henry's and Roberto's (not Rudy's) voices in that clip from Ghost of Chaparral, though it is not the two of them standing or acting in the scene.

After a scene is shot, and ESPECIALLY after a scene is shot on location, a lot of work is done back in the sound studio, where sounds of dune buggies and planes are "whited out", and dialogue is re-recorded and dubbed in so that we can hear what the actors actually said during the filming. Wind is also a big factor - whenever I'm on a movie set, it's fascinating to see all the furry and cloth things used to cover mics, that still let the sounds we want to get, get through. Many foley artists prefer using a non-lubricated condom for this purpose, as well.

Good afternoon.

I was named for Billy Cannon, but since I was born in 1969, I've never seen a show. My parents are both gone, so I don't know much about the character behind my name. That is, until now! Thank you so much for the newsletter and the site. I'm so very excited. I look forward to learning more about the show, and maybe someday, I'll even see an episode, although that may require a trip to Sweden it seems like, which isn't a half bad idea.

If you ever come across the episodes being aired, I'd love to hear about it. I'd go get a new satellite dish or digital cable just to see ol' Mark Slade.

Thank you for sharing in my excitement.

Hi!

I am an old enthusiast of the High Chaparral TV series, waiting and waiting and waiting as so many other people on the DVD release that for sure some day must come. I have tried to send emails and faxes to people over there, but no success so far. Do you have any email addresses to the right people at NBC/CBC/Paramount to thry to lobby them?

Many thanks for your reply.

I were in contact with Paramount Nordic last year, and they mailed to the US and asked them about the series. They told me that Paramount is investigasting it for a release (2008). But no more news have come to me so far.

They are sending the series at one of the Swedish channels now, but I have no TV, so I have not been able to see it.

I have to wait and watch other classics on DVD like Mission Impossible, The Saint, The Fugitive, Columbo and Perry Mason...... until The High Chaparral appears on DVD. Friday evening is for me and two of my boys the "Classic TV series watching evening"

(I am also suprised that not even Bonanza are on DVD yet (only some few episodes, but no season release), and it is as I have understood not as complicated rights for that series, but maybe I'm wrong about that..... :-) ) Another thing is also, that many of those who watched the THC TV-series are also older now, and within not too many years they maybe are not interested in buying the series any more........
Then also some old Western classics are released or under releasing schedules - Rawhide, Gunsmoke, Wild Wild West etc. so for sure that also means the day comes closer and closer for THC. They for sure don't relaese too many Westerns during the same time, to have inflation on the market.

The words "when, not if" keep all of us with a good hope....... :-)

Hello!

I was a little bit surprised when I were on the IMDb page for THC. My opinion were on the top of the page of comments!  (klmp3947 is my "namn" there)
